Velingrad - Spa Capital of the Balkan Peninsula 06.7.2009 On July 7th and 8th , the town of Velingrad tehre will be an official ceramony and the city will be named spa capital of the Balkans. This title was given at the Conference of International Hotel & Restaurant Association which was held in Mexico City. Velingrad is also Spa Capital of Bulgaria since 2005, acknowledged by Bulgarian Hotel and Restaurant Association. Velingrad makes use of the healing power of 80 thermal springs and 15 types of water.
